All matter is energy.
All emotions are energy,
All thoughts are energy forms.

Perhaps a gross material scientist,
one who believes naively in the
uncuttable nature of matter
can give what he terms  a
'perfectly rational explanation'
for the following puzzling
displays of this energy.

William Blake believed that
if anything was god,
energy was god.

We can talk philosophically
about power, about omnipotence.
We can talk about the almightiness of god,
and we are still talking about energy
... in a slightly more generalised way.

When we use the word energy
we are talking about something that works.

The ERG in EN-ER-GY means work,
IN-WORK-AFFIRMING
is the meaning of the word EN-ERG-Y:
that which affirms the work,
the function in a being, is energy.
Then we have to ask ourselves,
by what peculiar arrangement of itself
does this energy produce
highly organised forms;
structures which are able to
do extraordinarily complicated activities.

By what peculiar process
does a plaice, swimming along,
change its apparent colour
into sand colour in one place,
pebble colour in another place?

By what peculiar manipulations
of its own energy does a chameleon
change colour?

By what peculiar process
in the mind of a man
does geometry arise
... mathematics, logic?

What is intuition?

What is the meaning of the word spirit,
what is the meaning of the word matter?
All these terms refer to functions
of the energy already manifest,
showing itself in the organism.
