The diamond body is the
perfected body of ideas in the Buddhist tradition, contrasting with the
ordinary body of ideas which are separate from each other. In one of his
tapes, Eugene defines the diamond body as a body of ideas, all mutually
inter-weaving, each one presupposing all the others. It is said to be
the body of ideas which survives 'the second death' mentioned in the
'Revelation' of John. The first death is that of the gross material
body, the second is that of the idea structure. If a person's idea
structure hasn't been worked upon in order to achieve the diamond body,
it is said that this body of ideas will die, lose its individuality and
dissolve back to the source.

R: To wonder is to ask and to ask is to invite. You invite. You invite — you invite the answer to a question which almost you don’t know how to ask. The first time you ask it is vague. You say, “Why?”. “Why what?” “Why this?”. You say, “Why this, why not that?”. He keeps that to be answered until tomorrow. You start vaguely, you start lowly, you start at the beginning. When you have started at the beginning you have invited. When you invite you call. When you call you are answered. If the call is real, if the call is actual and from the heart, you must be answered, even if it’s silly to the world. But you must listen. You won’t get, “Thou shalt do this, tomorrow, at 3 o’clock in the morning.” You get a nudge, you see a book, you pick up an idea.
E: Do you mean the answer can come in any way whatever?
R: Oh yes.
E: It isn’t always in the form of an internal voice. It could be an external event?
R: Yes, it could be.
E: What would determine the nature of the answer you would receive, whether you have an inner prompting or an external event, like your book?
R: You don’t know. Now you are trying to set the answer, but you can’t. You have to wait and try to still your mind. Try to still the beating of your heart, try to still the urging for your lunch, and wait on God. You hang on God and hope and pray that by his infinite grace he will condescend to open His heart to your prayers.

In Pot-Corpse II, the following is an item which appears to further clarify this concept. In the unperfected man, ideas are varied and loosely connected, some isolated ... totally unconnected. Perhaps we can visualise our unrelated ideas as the dissolved crystals in the supersaturated solution. A nudge, an idea, a wink, may set up the crystallisation, or Christallisation, of ideas into the perfected structure, the Diamond Body.

"SEED CRYSTAL. A saturated solution is one in which no more matter will dissolve. But if the temperature is raised, more can he added without the solution ‘noticing'’. It is then a super-saturated solution. If the solution is then slowly cooled, the material excess does not crystallise out, because the molecules have not ‘noticed’ the change because of its gradualness, But if a crystal is dropped into the solution, or a grain of dust, or the glass is tapped or scratched, given a little. shock, then crystallisation at once occurs. The analogy applies to some mental states, when ‘crystallisation’ of an idea, or an illness, held in solution, super-saturated, may he suddenly triggered by a stray word or other stimulus. In the solution, or in the mind, a crystal suddenly appears and stars out through the solution until the whole of it, or of the mind, is filled with crystallised matter which has set."
