Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury
Newton:
"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." A principle
copied from the works of Jacob Boehme with all religious context
stripped from it and dignified with the appellation, 'Newton's Third Law'.
Jesus (NT): "As ye sew, so shall ye reap."
Bhagavad Gita: 'Karma', in Sanskrit, means 'actions', 'deeds'.
Old Testament Ecclesiastes: "there is no new thing under the sun."
The alchemists worked with symbols, each planet representing an aspect of the power field in which we have come to exist. A useful set of principles that can be applied to virtually any field of activity.
Power condensed on a focus is given the name Saturn, saturnine compression, satanic condensation, the devil.
Power
seeking to escape the compressing forces, willing to become free, the
freedom-seeker, is given the name Jupiter, deo-pater, god the father.
Mercury
is the resulting shake or vibration, it appears to spin. Mercury is the
resolution of both the force which threatens imprisonment, and the
possibility of annihilation by expansion into the great No-Thing. Every
myth has its own description of this force. It is the Messianic figure, Thoth, Hermes,
Tjehuti.
We
each have these tendencies:
The egotistical separative force of Saturn,
and the outwardly-sharing compassion of Jupiter.
The egotistical separative force of Saturn,
and the outwardly-sharing compassion of Jupiter.
The
mercury man, having achieved his own internal balance, continuously
oscillates between the two, honouring the meaning of his own
individuality, and feeling deeply into relationships, working to develop
the full potential in all situations. He is the quick as opposed to the dead. The mercantile mind always looking for the best possible profit in any situation.
