bromelaine

Bromelain

The best that cancerresearchuk can say of this substance is that it can help with cancer. The affirmation of the efficacy of a natural cure is unusual. A study with gastro-intestinal cancer cells by the same organisation came up with a very positive result. Just checked several links I had, and realise these have been deleted. There's mischief afoot, interfering with information about helpful natural sources of foods beneficial to health.
Here's a claim that bromelaine is more effective than fluorouracil in its anti-cancer properties. Useful for the method of extracting from raw pineapple:

The American hospital Sloan Kettering also have a favourable review of bromelaine:

"To prevent and treat cancer. Laboratory studies suggest bromelaine has anti-cancer activities. But these effects have not been confirmed in humans."

The following is from Dr. James Meschino in which he claims it's of great benefit to the autoimmune system:

In the above, he mentions this free online ebook:

And the following, from Washington Educational establishments' Guide to Integrative Oncology for Clinicians has this to say of bromelaine:
"Ex vivo human clinical trials of bromelain have shown that oral doses of bromelain (3000 IF.I.P. units) in breast cancer patients for ten days enhanced monocyte cytotoxicity against breast cancer cell lines."

And the following from the McMillan site, a recognised source for conventional cancer treatment. The response to a question about bromelain is that it has not yet been tested. For as long as testing is done by drug companies, they will not test a raw natural product for efficacy unless a possibility is seen to extract an ingredient and put a patent on it.

Even recognised authorities have only good words to say of Bromelain taken orally.

A useful supplement for those afflicted with cancer? I take it intermittently, but without a doubt would make it more regular if I was ever again afflicted.
